Privacy requests
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, delete it, restrict it, or object to how we use it. We confirm every request with a link to your email address before acting on it, and reply within 30 days.
Make a request
Tell us what you'd like and the email address your SlideDeck account uses (or used).
| Request | What it means |
|---|---|
| Access | Confirmation of whether we process your data, and a copy of it. |
| Copy of your data (portability) | Your account data as machine-readable files (JSON in a ZIP). |
| Deletion | Delete your account and its content, with the statutory exceptions below. |
| Correction | Fix inaccurate account details. |
| Restriction | Limit how we use your data while a question is resolved. |
| Objection | Object to processing based on legitimate interests. |
Faster if you're signed in
Signed-in account holders can do the most common things straight away, without waiting for us: download a copy of your data, change consents, delete saved recordings, and delete your account — all under Account → Privacy. Deleting your account is explained on Delete your account.
How we check it's you
- We email a single-use confirmation link to the address you enter. It works for 48 hours.
- We only act once you press the confirm button on the page the link opens. Opening the link alone confirms nothing.
- If an account uses that address, the request is linked to it. We never tell anyone else whether an address has an account.
- If something doesn't add up, we may ask for more information that only the account holder would have. We never ask for your password — SlideDeck doesn't use one.
- Someone acting for you (for example, a lawyer) needs your written authorisation, and we still confirm with you directly.
Timelines
- We reply within 30 days of receiving the request.
- For complex or numerous requests, the law allows up to two further months. If we need that, we tell you why within the first 30 days.
- Account exports are usually ready within minutes after you confirm, and stay downloadable for 7 days.
- Account deletion runs after a 7-day grace period that you can cancel; you can also delete immediately from your account settings.
- Requests are free. We may refuse or charge a reasonable fee only for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive, and we'd explain why.
Exceptions
- Billing and tax records are kept for the period the law requires (in Sweden, seven years for accounting records), separately from your presentations and without their content.
- Security logs are kept for 30 days, and longer only when a documented incident or legal claim needs them.
- Copies you made — files you exported, downloaded or shared — are outside our control. We can revoke share links, but not recall copies already sent.
- Other people's rights: a copy of your data won't include other people's personal data, such as comments left by viewers of a shared presentation.
- Backups roll over within 30 days after deletion.
- Web pages and search results you used as sources are listed by address in exports, not copied, because they belong to their publishers.
Complaints
Questions about a request: privacy@slidedeck.my. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) — or to the authority where you live or work.
